POPLI In Kenya: How it Started and How it’s Going

Meet Mr. Stephen and Dorcas Tito

Mr. Stephen Tito and Dr. Verna Cornelia Price

Stephen Tito saw a need for hope in his community. Children in Tito’s community attend school until eighth grade, then many are forced to drop out and work full time. In Kenya, high school costs approximately 500 dollars a year, which is a lot of money when the average household income is 200 dollars a month.

Tito heard Dr. Verna’s teachings at a leadership training during her first visit to Naivasha, Kenya. He reached out numerous times, calling on Dr. Verna to bring Girls Taking Action and Boys of Hope to his community. The youth in Tito’s community needed a vision beyond their current circumstances and systems; they needed hope.

POPLI-Kenya established in 2022. Hours were spent in virtual conferences learning the foundations of Girls Taking Action and Boys of Hope. Limited internet access was a barrier to learning, but persistence paid off with flourishing program launches with ever-growing numbers of youth.

Mr. and Mrs. Tito, as co-founders of POPLI-Kenya, have continuously gathered community and opened doors for POPLI to share the message of hope and personal power throughout their country.

POPLI covered a lot of ground during their four days in Kenya. Stephen and Dorcas Tito lead Dr. Verna Cornelia Price, Brother Shane Price and the POPLI team to engage with over 2,000 men, women and children. Girls Taking Action and Boys of Hope are flourishing, leaders are rising up, and hope is spreading wildly.
